Legislative Page Program

Legislative Page Program at Queen’s Park

Are you a grade 7 or 8 student that would enjoy participating in an educational program at the Provincial Parliament in Toronto? Do you like to work hard and meet people your age from all over Ontario? If you answered yes to the above questions, the Legislative Page Program may be for you!

The program is an educational opportunity for Ontario's outgoing, high-achieving, community-involved students who have demonstrated responsibility and leadership. It's a unique experience where you will meet students from across the province while you learn first-hand about Ontario's parliament. It will be an experience you will never forget!

Legislative Pages

Pages work in the Legislative Chamber of the Provincial Parliament, also known as the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. They typically serve a term of duty that lasts between 2 and 4 weeks, and are granted a leave of absence from school during this term.

Pages wear a traditional uniform and perform various duties as they serve Parliament. They play an important role in the Legislature, acting as messengers in the Legislative Chamber, meeting with politicians and officials, learning how laws are made and how the Province of Ontario is governed. While at Queen's Park, they are taught legislative process and receive various assignments to develop their language skills. Pages are also tutored in mathematics, and on Fridays, they participate in special educational activities or field trips.

Ontario's Legislative Page Program is a non-residential program. Students living outside of commuting distance to Queen's Park in Toronto must find accommodation during their term of duty if selected.

Please note: Lack of accommodation at the time of application will not affect a student's eligibility for selection. The Legislative Page Program operates only when Parliament is in session.
